  • Network Code Support: Liaise with the gas transportation network Operator for efficient, equitable & transparent access to the gas transportation network.
  • Price Aggregation and Escrow Management.
  • Support the Development of Commercial Gas Trading Platform.

  • GACN NEW INITIATIVES
  • Expedited Conclusion of GSAA Negotiation and Operationalization: GACN has reviewed Due Diligence Assessment Criteria and set reduced timelines for each GSAA negotiation from more than 2 years to 3 – 6 months. GSAAs & IGSA Master Agreements & Gas Swap Framework Industry-wide Workshop “WS” held on 16th of September, 2020 to develop Master GSAAs.
  • Market Penetration and Gas Value Expansion Initiative: South East Gas Utilization Forum held on 14th October, 2020 in Owerri, Imo State. Follow-on engagements on gas commercialization and transportation solutions for SE.
  • Excellent Market Intelligence & Capacity/Opportunities Identification: Nationwide Market sounding launched to identify energy needs of gas utilization companies and provide support and gas-to-power business solutions.
  • Implementation of its new Corporate Visibility Strategy
  • Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code Support: Collaborating with DPR & NGC and other Gas Sector Stakeholders’ to ensure effective implementation of the Network Code. GACN is currently licensed as Shippers’ Agent.
  • Gas Flare Commercialization Program Support: Engaging with DPR to serve as Contract Administrator under the Gas Flare Commercialization Program.
  • Collaboration with some Embedded Power entities on a pilot gas to power scheme “Embedded Power Cluster Pilot Project”;
  • Work towards the earliest commencement of Aggregation in Dec. 2020 as well as Gas Trading; &,
  • Engaging with Nigerian Railway Corporation to develop a blue print gas commercialization initiative leveraging on rail infrastructure and centralized storage facilities to expand gas utilization via LNG-to-CNG model
  • GACN PARTNERSHIPS
  • Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) - Seek to leverage on NSE trading experience for the implementation of a National Gas trading platform. Additionally, develop a framework to explore data sharing around gas investment opportunities in the Domestic Gas sector and investors that can benefit from gas as primary source of energy.
  • Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) – Develop a Cooperation Framework between both Organizations to include a common position on key industry issues such as PIGB, Gas pricing framework review and Power sector challenges; Support for GACN programmes such as: Master Agreement Workshop, South East Gas Utilization Forum and Gas Sector Stakeholders Forum; Support for Network Code Shippers Agent status for GACN and active participation of GACN in NGA programmes and activities;
  • Nigeria Export Promotion Zones Authority (NEPZA) - Collaboration with NEPZA to address Gas & Power needs of all existing and prospective Free Trade Zones and Industrial Parks via gas utilization data.
  • Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) - Collaborating with NRC to leverage on existing railway networks as a means of transporting LNG and CNG to stranded to stranded areas in Nigeria which lack road network. In addition, proposal to covert railway engines and locomotives to dual fuel which will eventually run on gas.
  • Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) – Gas to Power Stakeholder alignment on areas of mutual value and collaboration such as Centralized gas supply contract management, Global Gas to Power Payment Assurance and mitigation of increased gas price related liabilities.
  • NNPC Gas & Power Investment Company Limited (NGPIC) – Collaboration to provide a robust gas supply solution to NGPIC.

The Gas Aggregation Company Nigeria Limited (GACN) was incorporated in Nigeria on January 2010 for the purpose of stimulating growth of natural gas utilization in the Nigerian domestic market.
